How Beacon collects, uses and protects your personal information.

Who we are

Beacon Capacity Partners Limited is an appointed representative of ES Risks Limited, which is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority. We are the data controller for the personal information we collect about you.

What we collect

  • Contact details you provide through our enquiry and review request forms.
  • Information about your business and its insurance requirements.
  • Technical data such as IP address and browser type, collected via our website.
  • Website usage data collected by our own first-party analytics (such as pages viewed and referring links). This is cookieless and anonymised — a temporary in-tab identifier and an anonymised IP address — and your browser’s “Do Not Track” setting is honoured, until you accept analytics cookies through our cookie banner. How we use it

Your personal and/or sensitive personal information may be used by us in a number of ways, including to:

  • arrange and administer an application for insurance;
  • manage and administer the insurance;
  • investigate, process and manage claims; and/or
  • prevent fraud.

Sharing your information

We may pass your personal data and/or special category data to industry-related third parties, including authorised agents; service providers; capacity providers; reinsurers; other insurers; legal advisers; loss adjusters and claims handlers.

We may also share your personal data with law enforcement, fraud detection, credit reference and debt collection agencies and within our group of companies to:

  • assess financial and insurance risks;
  • recover debt;
  • to prevent and detect crime; and/or
  • develop products and services.

We will not disclose Your personal data outside our group of companies except:

  • where we may transfer rights and obligations under the insurance.

Why is it necessary to share information?

Insurance companies share claims data to:

  • ensure that more than one claim cannot be made for the same personal injury or property damage;
  • check that claims information matches what was provided;
  • when the insurance was taken out;
  • act as a basis for investigating claims when We suspect that fraud is being attempted; and/or
  • respond to requests for information from law enforcement agencies.

How long we keep your information

We retain your personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes set out in this notice, including to meet legal, regulatory, tax and insurance requirements. Retention periods may vary depending on the type of data and purpose.

Your rights
